A busy year is drawing to a close and I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best to you, your family and your horses in the New Year.  If you are into New Year Resolutions, why not consider one you can really keep? A better relationship with your horse that is respectful, peaceful and above all, safe!  I also would like to thank all my clients who made that resolution last year and can say they did it in 2011!  I has been my pleasure to work with each and every one of you and thank you for helping me learn too!  I hope to see you in 2012.

I hit the road in the fall for some more traveling.  We packed in two trips to Algonquin Park for 7 days of riding.  Weather was perfect and the trails were in great shape.  It was off to Tennessee in early October where I rode with friends at East Fork Stables, Jamestown TN.  What a great place for some nice riding.  We crammed as many hours of riding we could into our 10 days there and I think we pretty much rode the entire map!   Not too long after returning from TN, I was off again to Equine Affaire in Springfield MA.  John Lyons was presenting clinics and of course, I took in every one.  No doubt I wasn't the only one in shock when John announced that this would be his last expo, he was retiring!  Word is that he is retiring from doing any expo but will do a few clinics and some private sessions.  So folks, if you didn't ever take an opportunity to see this man over the past 25+ years,  you have missed seeing one of the best (in my opinion, the best) horseman of our time.  His methods live on in his son, Josh and no doubt his grandsons, but there is nothing like seeing John on the end of a rein showing you how you can easily do this with your own horse!   I will be forever grateful for his dedication to finding a better way to teach our horses.

Whew!  That summer went fast.....we're into our fall schedule now and will be finishing off the 2011 Training Series on Sept. 24 with "On the Trail".  With this session we will be putting our new skills to work in real life situations.  Hope you can join us!

Our Mantracker event in support of the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Snow Run was a huge success.  All participants enjoyed themselves and are already wanting us to confirm a ride for 2012.  We're going to catch our breath first though but maybe, just maybe we'll have Terry Grant back next summer!

We will be attending the All About Horses expo in Lindsay ON May 28 & 29. Drop by our booth and say hi!

Exciting news for everyone!  John Lyons will be in Ontario April 15 - 20, 2011.  He will be presenting a symposium as well as a 3 day Riding Clinic.  It's all taking place at 5 Star Ranch near Guelph.  If you are curious about the Lyons methods or a seasoned user, you won't want to miss this opportunity to see "America's Most Trusted Horseman" right here at home!
I hope you were able to attend this event!  It was so good to see John back doing what he does best!  I am always learning new ideas, techniques and "Johnisms" that will help me teach you the Lyons methods.  Again I was amazed at how this training is ever evolving, always seeking a way to make it easier for the horse to understand and learn what it is we want them to do.  John is a master at this and it is always humbling to see him work with a horse.  Simple, focused and committed to his teachings. What a great weekend!
