| Most of
us want a special relationship with our
horses........we've dreamed about it, searched for and long to
achieve it. But what if we don't know what we want or maybe aren't
aware
that we are missing a vital element that prevents us from realizing
that dream? Have you ever said
"I'd like to do that but...", knowing that some behaviour
issue with you horse prevented you from participating? You can't get
your horse in a trailer, so you have to stay home. Your horse
won't tie, so you can't go on the trail ride. Your horse
behaves fine at home but you lose control when you are away.
Do you recognize you and your horse?
I would like to help you say
"I can go!".
Take a moment
to look through our website, read about the clinics and if you have
any questions, please email me! Many of you might be thinking
that you're not ready for a clinic, don't know what to expect, your
horse isn't ready etc. Just put that all aside and make it
happen. You won't regret it because both you and your horse
will have a fun time and learn so much, you'll need a suitcase to
take it all home! See you soon, Wendy |

HISTORY:I discovered John Lyons at a time when I was
searching for answers to some horse training issues. His ideas
sounded good, felt right and best of all, worked! I was hooked and
soon was absorbing all I could find. For many years I dreamed of
attending the Certification program in Parachute, Colorado. But
"life" generally kept it just that, a dream. Never one to totally
give up, even when I probably should, I continued to educate myself and my
horses using the Lyons Conditioned Response methods.
A group of like-minded horse friends joined me in my pursuit and we sought
each others input into our interpretation of the Lyons methods.
Finally, we felt ready to be "tested by the teacher" and attended a 3 day
clinic being taught by Josh Lyons.
It became a critical turning point.
With the support and encouragement of my friends and family, I applied and
was accepted into the Certification program in 2007. This was a huge
commitment for not only me, but my family as well. In my absence,
all my responsibilities and work would fall onto them, and that was no
small task. My daughter very capably took over the day to day
operations of our boarding and breeding facility that runs between 25 and
35 Appaloosa horses. I was able to turn my attention totally to the task
at hand - to absorb every piece of information I could from Josh and John in
12 weeks. It was a test of endurance, a realization of a dream and a truly
amazing experience. |
Any time we spend with our horses should be
considered "training". Whether it be positive or not is up to us. Make all your time spent with your horse a
beneficial experience for both of you.
